An enduring neutral- taupe has paired beautifully with vibrant yellow and hits of black and lime green to create this delightfully restrained and ultimately refined dining room.  One thing the homeowners of this Plymouth, MA house overlooking Cape Cod Bay knew was that what they had was not working!  The original room was divided into both a dining room and parlor with two faux Doric columns bisecting the space making for each articulated area being small and slightly unusable.  We came in and solved that problem!  Eliminating the columns and creating one larger dining area facilitated two things.  One, a functional dining space with large table and ample seating and two, a built in bench seat which has become a frequently used breakfast nook.  The unusable, problem dining space has become not only an elegant special occasion space but also a much beloved and well used morning coffee and breakfast area.  Casual furnishings have been outfit with a sophisticated color palette, walking the line between traditional and contemporary in a finely appointed room.
